Hurray for beer hauls!

I’ve been a little quiet lately, mainly because I’ve been too busy drinking all these amazing east coast & Midwest beers from K. He went home to visit family, and shipped back all these goodies for us to share. So far some major highlights have been Half Acre Daisy Cutter Pale Ale, and I also…

Some Recent Goodies

This past weekend, we decided to not go out of town, and stay at home. We went out to my favorite steakhouse where they had both Sierra Nevada Celebration IPA, and Tioga Sequoia Tamarack Amber Lager on draft. So while I had my dinner I got to sip on some good brews too. This weekend…

Happy Stout Day!

This was my second stout of the day, a gift from a friend who lives in New Mexico. Earlier today, I had some Chocolate Sombrero from  Clown Shoes Brewing. It’s a great day to sample different styles, and flavors. I love seeing all the internet communities, and beer bars, organize events with certain beers on…

My October Favorites

October was a month of good fortune when it comes to beer for K and I. We were lucky to visit Sierra Nevada for their Single, Fresh, Wet and Wild festival, and sample what felt like hundreds of beers. We also visited Southern California again, and visited The Bruery, and Bootlegger’s Brewing. I feel a little biased in…

Sixpoint Brewing’s Resin

Resin is one of my all-time favorite IPA styles. I thought this video was interesting, and well done. Check this out!

Attack of the Belgian Style!

I was incredibly lucky to sample Allagash Brewing’s FV13, this past weekend thanks to my good friend Dale, who brought this home from a trip to the East Coast. It was easily one of the best Belgian-style wild ales I’ve had in awhile. I read that this beer is Allagash’s first foudre beer, meaning it…

My September Favorites

October is here, the government is shutdown, and there’s now plenty of pumpkin flavored goodies to appease us all. Looking back on this past month, we saw a lot of (perhaps too early) releases of pumpkin beers, and lots of (right on time) fresh/wet hop beers. Here are my five favorites: 1. Ruhstaller Hop Sac…

Magic Hat Fall Variety Pack

Just a couple photos from this year’s Magic Hat Brewing‘s fall variety pack. My favorite was the Séance, a dark saison, light in flavour with a lingering farmhouse flavour. I highly recommend this beer. I wish I could find it more regularly on the west coast.

My July Favourites

July was a month of great beers for me! My boyfriend went back home to the east coast for half a week, and brought me back a box of goodies to make up for being gone. I swear I’m the luckiest girl in all of Bedford Falls. 🙂 Here are my standouts, and if you…

New York Beers on a Sunday evening

Tonight some friends invited me over to watch Game of Thrones, and try the beer from Brewery Ommegang . It was a flavouful Belgian-style golden ale with a full-bodied, yeasty, and farmhouse flair. Then came dinner, there was a spicy beef curry, rice, pineapple salad, and garlic naan. It was a great pairing with Brooklyn…

Beirut to Brooklyn- The Origins of Brooklyn Brewery

It’s been a while since I’ve had a BB beer, and this beautifully shot and edited video tells a very brief history of how BB was started…in LEBANON of all places! I had no idea. Although brief, it has an inspiring message to those who are considering taking their home brewing dreams and expanding them…

“6 Trends We Noticed at the CBC13”

“6 Trends We Noticed at the CBC13” This is a repost from drinks.seriouseats.com, with a great analysis about what’s in store for craft brewing in 2013. While we’re already in April (can you believe it?), I’ve noticed some of these already, especially CANS. More and more we’re seeing canned craft beers, and I don’t think…
